Earlier today, the Tornadoes welcomed Newton to the SCG. Having won their last three games, Tinsle were looking to continue their fine run of form.
Tinsle bowled very well and the bowlers took 9 wickets between them. The home side bowled and fielded very well. Newton finished on 198 and the home side would need to hold their nerve and bat sensibly to collect another victory. Well, that’s exactly what the Tornadoes did!
Elliot and Chambers (13 and 11 respectively) were the pick of the batters with everyone else chipping in with great contributions. Tinsle finished on a massive 271.
The Tornadoes collected their 4th straight win and will make the short trip to Mottram next Sunday.

Earlier today, Tintwistle CC Under 11’s travelled to Old Glossop looking to continue their fine run of form. Tintwistle batted first and built a decent total. Losing only 4 wickets throughout the innings Tinsle finished on 253. The pick of the batters was Charlie Harris who showed that he wasn’t in the mood for singles and scored 26 runs consisting of 6 x 4’s. The other major positive was the first three pairs only lost one wicket between them – a fantastic effort!
In reply Old Glossop finished on 204 with E Lumb the pick with a fine score of 16. Henry Godley was excellent with the ball for Tintwistle – the young player took superb figures of 3 wickets for 4 runs. Shaun Kelly and Charlie Morris each chipped in with one wicket each.
Another fine win for Tintwistle keeping the unbeaten run going. Next Sunday the young guns play Newton at the Speedwell Cricket Ground.
Tintwistle CC are pleased to announce Mettricks, the Award Winning butchers have signed up as Gold Sponsors for 2016. TCC would like to thank Steven and John Mettrick for their much valued support.
