Welcome to TCC
Tintwistle Cricket Club was formed in 1835 and is located on Speedwell in the village of Tintwistle. Tintwistle (or ‘Tinsle’ as pronounced by villagers) is located in the High Peak at the western end of the Longendale Valley. A section of our village sits within the Peak District National Park and is designated a conservation area. For a little history on Tintwistle CC, click here.
We currently run two senior teams, both who play on Saturdays (and the occasional Sundays), and three junior teams (under 11’s, under 13’s & under 15’s). The Juniors play under the name ‘Tinsle Tornadoes‘. For more information on the Tornadoes programme cick here. All teams play in the Derbyshire & Cheshire Cricket League. We are also a registered ECB All stars Centre and provide fun cricket activities for 5-8 year olds.
Our First XI play in Division One of the DCCL. We have brand new practice facilities (installed April 2018) and warmly welcome new members whatever their standard. Interested parties should note that senior practice is held on Thursday evenings and junior practice is held on Friday evenings during the summer. Indoor winter nets usually begin in February in the run up to the start of the season and are held at one of the local sporting facilities. If you’re interested in coming along please get in touch with the club captains. We’re always interested to hear from prospective new players.
We also have a strong junior section managed by qualified coaches and hold dedicated weekly coaching evenings during the summer. Parents should note that it is our aim to introduce cricket to a wide range of young people and that children of all ages are welcome to attend our coaching sessions.
We have a well stocked bar so even if you’re a non playing member, you can call by and take in some cricket whilst relaxing with a cool drink under the infamous sun trap – ‘The White Wall’!
